These terms govern the sale of a Premium licence for Yaniko Video Downloader by Yannick Yanga ("we", "us"), whose details appear in the legal notice. They apply to consumers buying through getyaniko.com.
Yaniko Video Downloader is a macOS application. The free tier is unlimited and capped at 720p in MP4. A Premium licence unlocks quality up to 4K/8K, the batch download queue, MKV and WebM, a preferred video codec, and subtitles. It is sold in two forms:
Premium is a single payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. The licence is delivered as a key, sent by email and shown on screen immediately after payment. If the email does not arrive, you can have it sent again from the account page.
macOS 14 or later, on an Apple silicon or Intel Mac. An internet connection is needed to activate a Premium licence and, from time to time, to confirm it is still valid; downloads themselves do not depend on us. The application downloads from third-party sites, so it requires those sites to remain reachable from your connection.
Prices are shown on the pricing page in euro, and the amount displayed is the amount you pay: any VAT due is included in it and never added at the end.
Until 30 September 2026 we sell under the Belgian VAT exemption scheme for small businesses, so no VAT is charged and none appears on your receipt — « Régime particulier de franchise des petites entreprises — TVA non applicable ». From 1 October 2026 we are on the normal VAT regime: VAT is included in the price shown and appears as a separate line on your receipt.
Payment is taken by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details. You are charged once, at the moment of purchase.
A licence is personal to you and covers the number of Macs stated above. You may move it to a different Mac — when you replace one, or reinstall macOS — a limited number of times per month; the application will tell you if you reach that limit. A licence may not be resold, shared or published.
If a key is shared publicly or otherwise used outside these terms, we may retire that key. Where you are the licence holder and the key was misused by someone else, we will issue you a replacement at no cost.
All updates to version 2.x are included at no extra cost. That expressly includes the updates needed to keep the application working as described — the sites it downloads from change often, and keeping up with them is our responsibility, not a paid extra.
A future major version may be a separate purchase. If it is, existing licence holders will be offered it at a reduced price, and those who bought recently before its release will receive it at no cost; the exact terms will be announced when it is released. Your licence continues to work either way.
As a consumer you have 14 days from the day of purchase to withdraw from the contract, for any reason or none, under Belgian law implementing Directive 2011/83/EU. We do not ask you to waive it: your licence key is delivered immediately and you keep the full 14 days anyway.
To withdraw, simply write to support@getyaniko.com — a clear statement is enough, and no particular form of words is required. We will refund you in full within 14 days of being told, using the same means of payment you used.
As a consumer you have a legal guarantee that the application conforms to what was described, for two years from the day your licence is supplied (Belgian Civil Code, Title VIbis, articles 1701/1 and following). If it does not, write to support@getyaniko.com and we will put it right. Where doing so is impossible or disproportionate, or where we fail to do it, you are entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract and be refunded — and we will pay that refund within 14 days of you telling us. These are your rights under Belgian law: nothing in these terms replaces them, and none of them depend on our goodwill.
Beyond the guarantee above, and whatever your reason: ask within 14 days of your purchase and we refund you, no questions asked. Write to support@getyaniko.com. This is the same window as the statutory right of withdrawal described above, and asking for either by either name gets you the same result — you never have to work out which one you are exercising.
A refund ends the licence: the key stops working and the application returns to the free tier, which remains fully usable.
The application downloads content from third-party websites at your instruction. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to download the content in question and for complying with the terms of the source site and applicable copyright law. We provide the tool; we do not host, supply or control the content it retrieves.
The application depends on third-party sites that change frequently. We update it regularly, but we cannot guarantee that any particular site or video will remain downloadable, nor that the service will be uninterrupted.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer and the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
These terms are governed by Belgian law, without depriving you of the mandatory protections of the country in which you reside. Complaints should first be sent to support@getyaniko.com; if no agreement is reached, the courts of East Flanders (Aalst division) have jurisdiction, subject to the consumer's right to bring proceedings in their own country.
